Tips to sharpen your visual memory

Six habits that help you see the new object sooner. They work in every world and every mode.

Visual memory improves with method more than effort. These habits help you hold a growing board in mind.

1. Scan in the same order

Read the board the same way each round, for example from top left to bottom right. A fixed path makes any change stand out.

2. Name the objects

Say them silently: "cake, pizza, donut". Words give your memory a second way to hold the board.

3. Watch the empty places early on

While the board grows, the new object always lands in a place that was empty. Remember the gaps as well as the objects.

4. Group the objects

Remember small groups by area: "the sweets on the left, the fruit at the bottom". Groups are easier to keep than single items.

5. Beware of look-alikes

From round 7, a new object may look like one already there. Check the details before you tap.

6. Keep the hint for the full board

A hint is worth most once the board is full and positions no longer help.
